What does MFA and 2FA mean?
Mutli-Factor Authentication (MFA) is the act of utilizing a secondary authentication method to help increase security.
Instead of relying on a single form of user access authentication, MFA helps increase security by requesting a second form of validation from a user when trying to access a secure site or application.
Also known as Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), MFA is becoming more and more commonplace and will often send links to user’s stored mobile phone numbers and or a secondary email address for increased security.
MFA can dramatically decrease the effectiveness of spam and bots on your application or secure site and helps deter malicious people and software.
